Some are always talking about how F1 ‘needs to get young people involved’. That the sport is going to decline unless this happens.
They are the same kind of people that believe that there could be any reasonable business correlation between Twitter and F1 (or Twitter and anything).
It may obviously help to get a 10 or 15 year old interested in F1 now … but only if you are not focusing on the next 15 years of F1. Because it may take that long for the youngster to be able to afford his or her first F1 ticket.
If you think that F1 needs to be ‘saved ‘ within the next 10 or 15 years, then you may want to look at attracting a different age group.
And if you say that this is impossible, that the older age group are ‘so set in their ways’ that they would not watch F1? You are narrow-minded and self-deluded.
